After eight years of the summer season, cirqu'7 was the last event in the “old” Alte Reithalle Aarau. For the last time, the building could be experienced in its raw state.

We found the perfect staging to honor this final point: “Le Vide - essai de cirque” put the hall in the spotlight. It was played up to its peak at a height of 16 meters. With its joy of experimentation and unusual use of space, “Le Vide” was reminiscent of the esprit that gave rise to many great things in the eight years of summer performances in the Alte Reithalle. Incidentally, this production could only be shown because the people of Aarau said “yes” to the renovation of the Reithalle. Otherwise, the special permit required to use the roof truss would not have been granted.

The General Meeting of the European circus network “Circostrada” also took place during the festival; the international specialist audience met for three days in Aarau and Zurich and helped the circus festival to gain an excellent reputation on the international circus scene.
