PAKMAN

In the back of a juggler's not-too-large circus wagon there is what looks like a postal worker in overalls. He is separated from the audience by a glass wall and carefully hands out stamped seating tickets over the counter.

It is not all work and no play but even playing is somewhat serious. There is juggling with balls all over the room, using the furniture, walls, floors and doors. Precise rhythms pulsate through the walls enfolded in beats and echoes of pure sound, gathering in a mix of invigorating repetition.
After the break, another powerful percussionist joins in; After a series of mini battles, he squeezes himself behind his drums and confronts the juggler with a rhythmic duel that has it all. It is raw and dynamic with flashes of eternity.

Stijn Grupping and Frederik Meulyzer expose a peculiar little world that is all about complex rhythms. It is not about the outside, its about the inside, and about discovering it together.
