You can disrupt everyday life with an artistic act as follows: Place several man-sized rocks in a public square and try to stack two of these enormous boulders so that they balance on top of each other in the smallest area possible. You can use tools such as rollers, chisels and chain hoists. You may require a pyramid-shaped steel construction but electrical machines are not allowed – The strength of a single human must suffice.
Dutch performance artist Nick Steur doesn’t give up. He struggles until he manages to balance the two stones, no matter how long it takes. And when he's done, he starts over, picking different stones each time. You can watch him, talk shop and forget that you actually wanted to buy bread and go to the hairdresser. You can watch how he continually invents ways to outsmart gravity and speculate about whether his work will hold or collapse. Discover something amazing - go there and see it for yourself.
Many thanks to Baumann Epp Bau AG from Bürglen (UR) for providing the stones.
