A ballet with palettes: 50 of them unpacked on a long catwalk, piled up, formed into circular arches for the circus are deliberately brought crashing down again. Of course, the seven artists have no time for graceful jumps and pretty dance steps - they work with canvas belts, lift trucks and sledgehammers. And when the slack rope is installed, a place for the trapeze must be found. But when the work is done, skillful circus acts are possible. Even when the palettes collapse, a talented artist can still juggle on them.
The Swiss circus FahrAwaY, in existence for eleven years now, mixes superb craftsmanship with powerful artistry in its productions. Bold music forms the framework, played on self-made instruments, self-composed and performed live. Imaginative, humorous and down-to-earth, their do-it-yourself mentality and a lot of skill create the unmistakable charm of this group. This is less "ballet" but many palettes!
