Empire of Fools

A clown enters. That is a clown, right? The man with the socks. Then there is a hat act - that's probably what you'd call it. Anyway, a hat takes center stage and then a man on tightrope announces the program and a female tightrope walker philosophizes about tightrope walking and shows us how it is done. A juggler appears and he is only interested in his act, especially the finale. Eventually, the drummer leaves the safety of his refuge and suddenly everyone is playing a musical instrument. Ah, they are a circus band. Right?

The Cie. Roikuuva plays with common ideas of performances in the ring and shows what can be done with some amazing artistic ability and a good portion of mischievousness. This is Circus that doesn’t take itself too seriously and nonetheless captures the audience’s attention.
