Five musicians gather in their dressing room. And then, they dive into glass water tanks and appear as if suspended in shimmering aquariums. Then they begin to play some extraordinary instruments, creating an underwater symphony of light and sound. They play with captivating intensity and the audience soon finds itself transported into an enchanting realm of imagery and soundscapes.
In collaboration with deep-sea divers, instrument makers and scientists, Aquasonic has created entirely new underwater instruments and then conducted countless experiments. Their instruments include an underwater organ / hydraulophone, a crystallophone, a rotacorda, a drum kit and a peculiar violin. The artists went so far as to develop unique underwater singing techniques. After a decade of development, they finally made their first public appearance in 2016 and since then, this Danish group has been touring internationally with their spectacular underwater concert.
